I was informed today that I received a Silver Key in the Scholastics Art competition for my 3' x 4' painting, "Youth and Young Manhood". The rewards ceremony will be on February 10th I think and I believe that's also when the Scholastic works display will open at the Fort Wayne Museum. This will be my first ever "official" showing so I'm fairly pumped about it.
As for recently, I've been working on some linoleum cut prints in class that are coming along fairly well. I plan to do a few prints on the back of my suit coats. I'll get photographed results up when I can.
I don't have any new work so I'll just show you guys some recently dug up mind blowing contemporary artists:
Jennifer Maestre:works with nails, beads, and pencils combined with weaving to create powerful biomorphic sculptures filled with beauty and danger. Favs: Aurora, Luna, Chimera, Observatory
Thomas Beale:works with wood to create wonderfully lively, often massive, sculptures: Diverge, Dream Raft, Station, The Wild Space
